5 gallon Red Wing Shoulder Jug

Question:
Can you tell me anything about this jug? Have never tried to take the cork out & have no idea what it was used for. Got it back in the very early 60′s in IL had a farm yard sale for $1. Can you tell moe more about this shoulder jug, it has the original cork in it and I’ve never opened it or do I want to open it, scared it would break and lose value. Thank you Lizabeth

Western Stoneware Spongeware bowl

Hi, My mother-in-law would like to sell this bowl. I can not figure out if it Western Co. or Redwing. Its not paneled (ribbed)& No advertising. All the ones on your website are not smooth like this one. It has a 7 on the bottom. No cracks, or chips. What price should she put on it, if its luckily a Redwing. Thanks for your time.

Red Wing M1487, Charles Murphy

Red wing USA M147 mark on bottom in mold. Is this an eva zeisel piece? Donna

Answer: Hi Donna

your piece was designed by Charles Murphy, he used the "M" on some of his designs. It would date to around 1954, shape #1487. sometimes they are hard to read. Eva Zeisel didn’t design any artware that I know of for Red Wing, but she did do a dinnerware line called Town and country.
