you have two vases from the brushed ware line, early Red Wing art pottery. Your dates are correct. Think the first one may be shape # 133, the second, with the Heron’s is # 144. Both came in 3 sizes. Their value is around 70.00 each. Please do join the society, there are a lot of us…. thanks, steve n rose

2 gallon union stoneware, value and usage
Question:
Hi, We just picked up a two gallon Red Wing crock at our local thrift store. It perfectly matches images online, so we’re pretty sure it’s the real thing. The red wing is pretty big, and the "2" and the Union Stoneware Co. logo is below the wing. It looks pretty much exactly like this except that the number is straighter http://www.rogersarkansas.com/museum/donation/redwingcrock.htm My real question is whether or not the glaze is safe — could we use this to make fermented foods? Is it lead based or anything? Thanks for your help! Jennifer
