Red Wing Test plate

Question:

A few weeks ago you spoke with my mother, Charlotte Jacob, about a Red Wing plate that she has. She asked me to take pictures of it and e-mail you so that she could find out if it is worth anything. Pictures are attached. If you would like to e-mail your reply back to me, I will get it to her.

Red wing 827, lunch hour piece, Paulene 68

Question:
Just bought a Red Wing tepee ashtray at an antique store and was quite taken with it. On the bottom, it is marked Red Wing U.S.A. 827. It is also hand painted with the name Pauline ’68 engraved in the bottom. I’m wondering if it wasn’t painted by the owner. Look forward to your feedback.

Answer: The potteries closed in 1967, so this would have been done at a hobby shop, not at the potteries. cute decoration, though. Value around 15.00. thanks, steve n rose

15 gallon red wing crock

Question:
Hi, I have a 15 gallon crock it measures 18.5" tall, and 17.5" wide across the top. It has a few hairline cracks, and a nick next to the 15 mark. It does seem solid. It has a big red wing underneath the 15, and below the 15 is an oval that measures 2" wide, and about 1.5" tall. It says Red Wing Union Stoneware Co. inside the oval. There is also a wooden lid that seems to have shrunk, and doesn’t fit the top it just slides down inside. It belonged to my Grandma, and she used to make pickles in it. Can you give me an approximate value?
