Vase #1156

Question:
I have a white americana vase. It stands about 12 inches high. It has an eagle with spead wings and tip of wings extends above the rest of the vase. It also has a band of stars around the bottom of the vase. Mint condition. I think it could be a commerative piece. Obtained in Rochester, Minnesota. Anxious to find anything out about it.

Answer: Hello, Red Wing did make a vase like you describe. #1156, circa 1942, WWII era, very patriotic themes. There should be some marks on the bottom as well. Fairly rare shape, not seen too often. value is around 100.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose

Salt Crock

Question:
Hi I recently came across a salt crock without its lid at an estate auction. There is no marking on the bottom of the crock but it looks like someone wrote on the bottom (small letters) circa 1870-1890. I am not sure if it is Red Wing or what it is. It seems to be in very good condition for its age. It could use a cleaning but I didn\’t want to do that in the case I wasn\’t supposed to. If you could help me out on the history and worth of this piece I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks-Molly

Red Wing 922 and 920

Question:
I purchased two pots recently that were labeled Red Wing. One is orange and is labeled Red Wing USA 922 and the other is gold labeled Red Wing USA 920. They are about 12 inches in diameter. Can you give me some information on these pots. Thank you. Arlee

Answer: Arlee, you have two flower pots, actually called decorator planters, from around 1965. There were three different size bases that these pots would sit on, or you can use them as stand alone. There is a ridge on the bottom where the base attaches. Value is aorund 45-50 each. thanks, steve n rose
