Question:
Hi, I have a 4 gallon crock no chips flakes or cracks. It has been remarked in pristine condition. 13 inches by 12 imches wide. Nice salt glaze with brown inside, no marks on the inside either. In cobalt-on top a very fancy 4, under that a p facing left with 3 lines or commas, another p facing right with 2 commas, under the p’s a bullseye with 5 graduations that is over 3 inches. Oh ya I guess u would want to know the best part-it is a deep side sign. An oval MN Stwr Co Red Wing. The side sign is about 1/16 inch deep with even the lightest 1/32 inch deep. Clay hand formed handles are pristine. I paid $600 for it about 10 years ago. Thank you Bill

Village Green markings and lead content
Question:
Greetings, I recently inherited a lovely set of village green dish ware. As the story goes, my great-grand parents took my grandmother and her husband to Redwing to buy the set as a wedding gift.
There are no markings on the bottoms of the plates or any of the set, so I’m trying to date it and also know for certain that it is indeed Redwing. I would like to use the dish set but also have concerns about lead content.
My questions are two:
Can it be official Red wing pottery without any stamping?
Does any one know if they are safe to use, and lead free?
thank you for your time! Kathleen

20 gallon Union Stoneware Crock
Question:
We were wondering if you could help us identify the age & value of a Union Stoneware Co. 20 gal crock? Attached is a website with 9 pictures, so hopefully you can view. It even has the handprint of a worker embedded in the glaze as they picked it up before it was dry. You should be able to cut & paste this web page into your browser. Let me know if it doesn’t work.
