I have a Red Wing vase with the number 410 on the bottom. Can you tell me something about it or the value, if any?

Answer: There are 2 different "410′s". One from 1938, more of a handled bowl with decorations that run around it. The other is from 1952, a vase shape with angualr feet. The earlier one is worth around 75.00 or so, the latter 30.00. thanks, steve n rose

Red Wing #1272, Dresser Box

Question:
This small box was my grandmother’s. I loved seeing it on her dresser, and asked her in approximately 1985 if I could have it. I don’t know the history, just that she had had it for a while. The green box is 4" by 3", has a leaf handle on the lid, and is marked with "Red Wing USA 1272" on the bottom. Thank you for any information on history and value that you can share.

Answer: Hi, your dresser box is from around 1946. the glaze is matt lily green. No particular line that it belongs to, but there were a few other box shapes made during this time. Value is around 50.00. thanks, steve n rose

Art Deco Piece

Question:
I was wondering if you would be able to or know who to consult about this particular early, possibly red wing rumrill, art deco nude handled vase. It stands 10 inches tall & 8 inches wide. I have attached a few pictures.

Answer: I don’t know who the maker is, it looks to be of the art nouveau style, early 1900′s. It seems to be made of plaster. the AAPA has a site that may give you some more information. thanks, steve n rose

Magnolia Line #1014

Question:
Please provide as much information about this piece as possible. I have no information about it. There is the Redwing "logo" along the curve in the bottom and opposite the logo is a number "1014" (I am not sure about the 4,but that is my best guess, the 101 is very definite. Following the 4, there is another mark that appears almost to be an "asterisk".) The dish is 12 1/4" long from tip of handle to tip of handle, the bowl itself is about 10 1/2" long. It is 7 1/2" wide and 4" tall. Thanks for any information.

Answer: It is shape #1014. Part of the Magnolia line of 1942, designed by belle Kogan. there were about 20 different shapes with this style decoration. the glaze is called eggshell ivory, antiqued w/brown. it has a value of around 45.00.

Yellow Cat Ash Reciever/Bud Vase

Question:
I have a "yellow" cat that is about 6′ tall w/ his mouth wide open. The bottom is marked 878 REDWING. This is 1 of about 6 that I have. This is the only that appears to be marked though. They are all odd colors. Can you tell me anything about them.

Answer: They were designed in 1939, six figures. scotty dog, cat, pelican, fish, elephant and donkey. they are actually bud vases, not ash receivers. thought most of them were marked, but some may not be. Values run around $175.00 each. thanks, steve n rose

Ash Receiver Markings

Question:
when it comes to ash receivers, did red wing sign all of the receivers produced? do unsigned receivers have the same value as signed ones? thanks for your time – appreciate the same.

Answer: They are all very recognizable shapes, not being signed won’t hurt their value. thanks, steve n rose

Magnolia Vase 1010

Question:
Magnolia Vase 1616: Thank you for your information. Can you tell me when it was made? Can you tell me anything more about the Magnolia line? Does the 1616 refer to how many were made? Note: I previously submitted this question & received this answer: Question: Please see the attached picture of a Red Wing. It is 8.5" tall, and on the bottom it is stamped "Red Wing USA 1616". It does have a 3" hair line crack on the back. Can you tell me an approximate value? Answer: HI, this is part of the Magnolia line. the hairline wil hurt it’s value quite a bit. maybe around 30.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose

Answer: This is actually shape 1010, sometimes the numbers are hard to read. It is from circa 1942. It is a shape number, nothing to do with how many were produced. It is a line designed by Belle Kogan. There are several other shapes with the same type Magnolia flower on them. Most have the brown or black antiqued glaze, but some are "handpainted" in different glaze combinations. It was a popular line. Hope this helps a little more, thanks, steve n rose
