I’d like to know about the rarity and value of vase 1102. It’s a dusty blue color and the leaves that form both decoration and handle are violet. There are no cracks or chips, nor any crazing. There is a manufacturing error on one side which is under the color and glaze. It looks like a scrap piece of clay became attached before firing. I can send you a good picture of this area but thought it best to show the whole vase with this question. Thanks for your help!

Answer: Hi, the flaws are fairly common, don’t worry about those. It’s from around 1942, hand painted group. Value is around 45.00. thanks, steve n rose

Red Wing 1255

Question:
my piece is a planter or vase, I believe. The outside is green, the inside is yellow. Approx size 4 1/2" tall x 14"wide. The back is flat, the front is round. It’s depth (from the back to the front) is 3 3/4". It is marked on the outside back RED WING USA with four numbers. I think the first is either a 7 or 1 then 255. the first number is not as deeply imprinted as the other 3. The front has design like swirls shaped like paisley or swan like. I’m sure the design type has a name, it’s used alot in ceramic or home decor. I’m sure this is an old piece, my aunt had it when we were kids. I’m 51 now. It is in great shape tho with glaze crackling inside but no chips. It feels fragile to hold or use. Thank You

Answer: Your window box/planter is shape 1255. Designed around 1946. It has a value of around 30.00 or so. thanks, steve n rose
