Question:
Hi, I was wondering if you could help me in my research about a pottery jug I picked up at an estate sale. From what little I could find my White Rose Rye Whiskey jug made by the P.J. Bowling Liquor Co. in St. Paul. Minn is made by the manufacturer who later became known as Red Wing. It is a little over 6" tall to the tip of the jug itself. There are a couple of cracks right above the lowest blue decorative band, but to me it looks like something that is more in the finish than something that goes all the way through. Do you have any idea of the history of this piece and the value? Thank you for your help! Sincerely, Cindy Johnston

Answer: Cindy, these White Rose Rye Whisky jugs were first though to be Red Wing. However they are not. Not sure who produced them. I have seen values on these jugs from $185 to $250. Hope this helps some. Al Kohlman
