Question:
Hi Larry: I’m the one who submitted a question about the unmarked/stamped Tampico butter dish and was concerned it was a "reject." Red Wing’s marking process for dinnerware continued to confound me as there did not seem to be any rhyme or reason.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide an enlightening and in-depth explanation. Wow…I am really impressed! Going forward, I now feel more knowledgeable and confident about buying unmarked/stamped pieces to add to my budding collection. Unfortunately, I live in CT, where Red Wing is about as easy to find as an Eskimo. So have mercy on me! Thanks again for sharing your expertise! Best regards, Luanne

Response:

Thanks very much for the kind compliments, Luanne. Glad to know the information was helpful to you. It’s true that Connecticut is not known as a Red Wing hotbed but I do know of another Red Wing collector who lives in your state. And Internet sales allow us to make purchases from across the country. Good luck in your hunt! Larry
