I purchased this crock this morning at a garage sale in Stockton, California. I would like to know how old it is and its value. Can you help?

Answer:

Warren, you have a 10 gallon drop 8 with quotation side stamped Red Wing Stoneware salt glazed crock.  It was produced between 1877 & 1895.  The decoration is light and with the crack in the back the value is around $500.   Al Kohlman
