Question:
Hello, Al Kohlmann, could you help me? My parents left me with two crocks with lids. There is a blue 25 and under that red wing then under that a blue oval shape with writing Red Wing union Stoneware Co. Red Wing.Minn. There is also near the wire wood handle the PAT:Dec.21,1915 on both pieces. There lids have a flower type pattern is in the center and sl. depressed for the wire wood handle. There are no cracks nor chips in them.I can not believe they are going to be 96 yrs. young. Can you help me with a range I should be asking for them? In one of the red wing books it suggested selling the lids separate but I would like to keep them together as my parents did.thank-you Barbara

Answer: Barbara, you can sell these crocks and lids together if you like, however, I am going to give you the values separately. If your 25 gallon crocks are in perfect condition and have great makings, the value is between $250 & $300 each. The lids in perfect condition have a value between $350 & $400 each. For the lids all depends on how well the embossing is and how creamy white the color. 25 gallon lids are tough to find. Good luck on selling them. Al Kohlman
