Question:
I would like to find the value of the following piece of stoneware – small butter crock 4"high by 51/2" across – has advertising in blue which reads: "Pure Farm Dairy Company, the word Butter in larger print, made of cream from healthy herds from officially accredited tuberculin tested herds – Phone Brunswick 1410 under that it reads 1936-44 W. Augusta Blvd. Chicago" A lot of wording – just curious what the value would be of this small butter crock. It is in good condition. Thanks for your help with this. kathie

Answer: Kathie, there were a number of stoneware companies that made butter crocks and put advertising on them. With that being said, I don’t know if yours is a Red Wing Butter crock or a butter crock from another pottery. So I really can’t give you a value without knowing who produced it. Al Kohlman
