Question:
I have the same "er-Man-trout’s Homebaked Beans" 1 gallon crock that was inquired about before on this site, but this one seems to be in pretty mint condition–I don’t see any real damage. I would like to sell it, but don’t know what price to put on it. Also, is there a "best" place to sell it, in order to reach the best market? Thank you so much for helping all of us "uninformed" ones out! Becky

Answer: Becky, the best place to sell it and still be somewhat safe is eBay. You can place a reserve on the piece so you do not give it away. Collectors will find it and the highest bidder (person who wants it most) will win it. However, timing is what is key here. Never sell it in the summer. Too many auctions, flee markets and garage sales along with vacations. October would be a better time frame to list it. Also, if you start high, you may not get a bid. Collectors are looking for a bargain. So start low, let them fight and get excited and you will do much better (remember, you are protected by your reserve. Al Kohlman
