Question:
From my Mother I inherited 2 pieces that she used all of her married life.

1. a 6 gallon butter churn with a glaze like the picture on the left. It has a lid with a few chipped places and the wooden dasher goes through the hole in the center of the lid. On the front there is a large 6, below that a red wing, and below that an oval that says Red Wing Union Stoneware Co Red Wing Minn.

2. a 3 gallon crock, no lid, same looking glaze, and the front of the crock says: 3 Imperial Medalta Potteries Ltd. Medicine Hat Alberta

Thank you for taking a look at this email. Edna

Answer: Edna, your mother’s 6 gallon Red Wing churn with the lid would have a value between $400 & $450 if the chips are somewhat small. The 3 gallon Medalta crock was made in Canada and is not a Red Wing piece. Not being Red Wing, I just have no idea of history or value. Al Kohlman
