Question:
The picture shows a 3 Gallon crock with no handles that my Mother used to pickle cucumbers as long as I can remember. It was packed with cucumbers in a brine with dill twigs and stored in a root cellar to process during our cold Montana winters. In the late spring we had great dill pickels from the previous year. The crock has no chips on the bottom or the top rim. I know for sure that she had it in August of 1945 when we moved from Seattle to Billings as I helped load the first crop of cucumbers in it, I was 7 years old at the time. James

Answer: James, your mother’s 3 gallon Red Wing crock was produced between 1936 & 1947. Value is between $60 & $70 in perfect condition. Al Kohlman
