Question:
I have a very shiny (with almost an iridescent quality to it) dark brown, stoneware bowl that is 7" in diameter. On the bottom it is marked RWSCo. It is in good shape as most of the"imperfections" seems to be pocs and marks from the glaze vs. any chips. What I find interesting is that there is a perfect little "hole" on the inside bottom of the bowl, that looks like a machine mark. I have looked for a bowl with this color everywhere in order to obtain information and have found nothing. Any assistance you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Kathy

Answer: Kathy, you have a Red Wing "Milk Pan" These Milk Pans were in every Red Wing catalog and every other Stoneware Pottery plants produced them as well.. These milk pans came in sizes from 4 3/4" to 15 1/2". Milk pans are found in white, brown and blue colors. 7" & 10" are the most common found and I am guessing that yours falls into this category. Value in perfect condition and signed, $40 to $80. Al Kohlman
