Question:
I have a #2 Red Wing water cooler and was wondering if you believe it has been repaired or not. I was told it has never been, but can see a seam on the side, seems to go on the bottom, and perhaps continue onto the other side. Inside the crock I can feel a seam too, however that seem doesn’t match up with the one on the outside. Thanks so much for you help. Sarah
Answer: Sarah, what you have here is a 2 gallon Red Wing churn and not a water cooler. Your churn was produced between 1936 & 1947. What you are looking at is a mold line as these later churns were molded. So that line you see is a mold line and not a repair. In mint condition today, the value is around $175. Al Kohlman
