Question:

I have a question regarding a red wing \"Ice Water\" cooler. It is a 3 gallon. Very nice markings, no cover. It does have small chips on the handles and a hairline on the inside bottom. The rim is in very good shape. It does not have the oval stamp at the bottom, and I didn\’t see one on the inside or the bottom of the cooler, I am just wondering the significance of this. Thanks for your time. Jeremy

Answer: Jeremy, your 3 gallon Ice Water was produced by the Minnesota Stoneware Company between 1895 & 1906. The reason most likely for not having an oval is room. The front of your ice water is full. Where would you squeeze in an oval? The chips on the handles hurt a little, but the hairline at the bottom hurts quite a bit.. Value as I see it in today’s market, $400 to $500. Al Kohlman
