What do you call the mark on the front of my 3 gallon crock? What about value? There are no chips, it has elephant ear handles and the only blemish is a crack/line on the bottom right side of the crock that is about 5" in length. It doesn’t go through the crock,it is only a surface crack. Thanks! Jean

Answer: Jean, your 3 gallon salt glaze crock is called a lazy 8 with quotations. That crack on the size does hurt it’s value by quite a bid as collectors today are looking for perfect pieces. Value would be between $125 & $150. Al Kohlman
