hello, can anyone tell me the significance of the size of the wing. one 4 gallon open top piece of red wing i have with no handles has a large red wing on it. this piece i found today hidden in a warehouse has a small red wing, is a 5 gallon jug, and blue seal with a number on it. clueless in gulf breeze, Florida Bruce

Answer: Bruce, on the 4 gallon Red Wing with the large wing, tells me that this is an earlier piece of Red Wing. Manufactured sometime between 1908 & 1930. The 5 gallon jug with the small red wing was produced between 1930 & 1947. So it is a later piece. Hope this helps. Al Kohlman
