Question:
I recently bought a 7 inch sponge bowl thinking it was a simple cap bowl. Turns out it is a full ridges bowl and the price guide says $400-500 with lid (which I don’t have). Why are the full ridges so much higher in value? Thanks. Chuck

Answer: Chuck, the full panel bowls are quite rare compared to the other stoneware bowls. In today’s market, you won’t get the $400 to $500 book value, but $300 to $350 is a better range. Also, cap bowls are quite cheap, it is the lid that will empty your wallet. Al Kohlman
