Question:
I have a 4 Gallon, salt-glazed, elephant-ear crock. It is in perfect shape, no chips, no cracks. It has a swirly target-shaped design under the 4, and is side-stamped, with an incised Minnesota Stoneware, Red Wing. Also two "goose dropping "marks. Can you give me some idea of the value, or if someone at the upcoming convention would be able to make me an offer. I live in Wyoming, Minnesota, just about 6 mile north of Forest Lake on 35W. William

Answer: William these 4 gallon salt glaze crocks with lazy 8 and target marked which are side stamped used to fetch $1000. But with the economy the way it is, they now have a value between $600 & $800 in mint condition. All depends on how well decorated, stamped and clean the crock is. Al Kohlman
