Question:
I’m pretty sure this is a redwing barrel pitcher, right?my question is it is marked 3qt on the bottom, would that be considered a signed piece value wish or is there a redwing marking to be considered signed? Thanks Tammy Distad
Answer: Tammy, the barrel pitcher you have shown here looks to be Red Wing. However, every stoneware company in the mid-west produce them. Having the 3qt incised on the bottom is not a signed piece. It means that this barrel pitcher is 3 quarts. I would need to be signed "Made in Red Wing" to be considered a signed piece. Not being signed and with so many of these barrel pitchers being manufactured throughout the mid-west, the value would be quite low. Maybe $20 or so. Al Kohlman
