This is a cookie jar -lt yellow in color, stamped in blue on bottom "RED WING SAFFERON WARE", across bottom is 5/34", top to bottom is approx 8 1/2", has pottery handles, has circular ridges(5 on top of jar,5 on bottom of jar, have matching lid, this is in excellent condition with no cracks and finish in unblemished in any way. Can you give me a history and value. Thank you. Kathy

Answer: Kathy the Saffron-ware line began in the 1930′s and used the same molds as Gray Line. Saffron-ware never caught up to the values of the Gray Line products which is too bad. Value on your cookie jar is between $50 & $75 in mint condition with lid. Al Kohlman
