Question:
This Jug has an imprinted name of the potter, just below the neck (upper right of photo), which says "John B. Caire & Co, Main St, Pokeepsie, NY." Some research indicates Caire made pots from 1840-1852, when he died and his son a partner took over and used their names on the pots. The photo also reflects the finger prints of all 5-fingers. The jug has no chips or cracks, other than waht appears to be the join-line of the upper handle to the jug. Do you have any knowledge of John Caire, and of what the market value might be for this jug? Thanks Chris
Answer: Sorry Chris. Not being Red Wing or Wisconsin, I just have no idea on value or history. Al Kohlman
