Question:
I’m trying to find a value and if it’s a little rare,on my Red Wing 8 Gallon 2 Birch Leaf Crock,it has applied stoneware style handles, not wire and wood handles. And it is marked with 8,two birch leaves and 2 1/2"oval with,Union Stoneware Co,Red Wing,MINN(all in blue). It has no hairlines or cracks, and is very clean(real nice one)with one close to a quarter size chip in the very back bottom, thin old chip. The reason I’m asking,I’ve looked in all my books and can’t find that size in the Birch Leaves, and I couldn’t find it on a internet search, and this site kept popping up in my searches.I would appreciate any information you have on this item.I didn’t include a picture, because I believe I described it well and accurate. Thank you,James T.
Answer: James, your 8 gallon Red Wing birch leaf crock is not rare. If it were in mint condition, it would have a value between $150 & $175. With the chip you will need to reduce it’s value. Hope this helps. Al Kohlman
