Question:
Al, Thank you very much for helping us newbie’s out. The info you provide has helped me out tremendously. A question I have is there a value difference between having birch leaves stamped in blue ink or black ink? I know after reading a lot of your answers to other questions that it is very important to have a bright clear stamp but I have not read anything on whether the color of the ink mattered in a crocks value. Also I was wondering if having an oval or not having an oval on a birch leaf crock effected the value with everything else being equal. Thank you again for sharing your knowledge! Answer:

Scott,
Al is on vacation and I am filling in for him.
Black or blue ink preference depends on the collector. A collector may pay more for a certain color is he needs to finish a set. Generally, there is little price difference. Most collector prefer an oval and put a greater value on an item with the oval.  Jeff
