Question:
I was given this piece about 7 years ago from a friend that passed away. I have looked in several books, on the internet, and can’t seem to find anything out about it. Can you help?

 

Answer: Al is on vacation, so I am filling in. You have a Red Wing stoneware five gallon butter churn which was manufactured in the early 1900’s. The decoration is called “birch leaves”. It would have had a stoneware lid and a dasher for making butter. Jeff
