Question:
I recently purchased this 1 gal. crock from a local antique shop for $25. (The darker glaze appeals to me.) I was surprised to see the logo, "Minnesota Stoneware Co. Red Wing Minn." on the bottom. Through online research, I learned that Red Wing Union and Minnesota Stoneware companies merged, possibly in 1906. To my untrained eye, the crock is in good condition: normal wear-and-tear, but no major/structural faults. Are you able to tell me more about this crock? Did I pay a fair price (I feel that perhaps I underpaid)? Thank you.

Answer: Your Minnesota Stoneware Company one gallon bottom signed salt glazed crock was manufactured between 1870 & 1895. In mint condition they sell between $40 & $50. So you did OK. Al Kohlman
