Question:
I have a Red Wing cooler with spigot and lid- I believe it is a 4 gallon. It looks like the Iced Water coolers, but the lettering says Fresh Buttermilk. I have not been able to find any info on one marked Buttermilk. Could you help me out? Thanks! Elin

Answer: Elin, Red Wing "Fresh Buttermilk" coolers are extremely rare. There is very little information on them other than it was a special order. The only one I know of ever for sale was at least 10 years ago and it sold at the Red Wing auction for $6000. Now in today’s markets, I would think this Buttermilk cooler would not have gone up in it’s value, but would still be in the $6000 range in mint condition. The $6000 value would be for the cooler only. The lid would be in the range of $300 to $350 and spigot $50. Lid and spigot would be chunk change compared to that cooler! Very nice and rare piece. Now I’m jealous!!!!! Al Kohlman
