Question:
Hi Al, I have a Red Wing crock, about one gallon in size, that has an almost reddish color to it. Is this uncommon? It has the original lid (I think). The bottom is impressed "Red Wing Stoneware Co." There are no cracks or chips. I was wondering if the reddish color was rare and what the value might be. Thanks for the service you provide! Barb
Answer: Barb, you have a Red Wing Stoneware preserve jar. The reddish color is Albany slip which is quite common on these jars. Value is between $40 & $60. Al Kohlman
