Can you tell me anything about this jug? Have never tried to take the cork out & have no idea what it was used for. Got it back in the very early 60′s in IL had a farm yard sale for $1. Can you tell moe more about this shoulder jug, it has the original cork in it and I’ve never opened it or do I want to open it, scared it would break and lose value. Thank you Lizabeth

Answer: Lizabeth, go ahead and remove the cork. You will not break this jug. It is a Red Wing 5 gallon should jug which was produced between 1917 & 1930. Value in today’s ecomony is between $50 & $75. There were quite a few of these shoulder jugs produced in this time period. Al Kohlman
