I have read about several 5gal. jugs with Colfax advertizing, but have never seen a pic. or details of condition. I would appreciate any info. you could provide. How rare is the shield? Answer: Donna, Colfax, Iowa was well known for it’s mineral springs and spas. They used Red Wing in the early 1900′s to advertise there mineral springs in both the beehive and shoulder jugs. The shield was there trade mark on these jugs. Value in mint condition on a Red Wing shoulder jug in mint condition such as yours would be $800 to $1000. With the chip (especially on the front of the jug) $650 to $750. Very nice piece. Al Kohlman
