Question:
Hello. I purchased these three items yesterday and was wondering if you could give me some information on value. I paid $135 for the butter churn and it is in good condition except for a very old chip on one of the handles. I paid $30 for the beige bowl and it is in perfect condition and the blue butter crock was $48 and has Johnson Milk Depots on the bottom and just one small chip. I was wondering if Red Wing ever produced the blue butter crocks or who might have? Thank you so much for your expert opinion. Gary

Answer: Gary, your salt glazed churn is not Red Wing. Still a very nice piece. I would guess a value on it would between $175 & $200. The beige milk pan looks to be Red Wing, but a number of other stoneware companies produced them as well. The price you paid for it is about right. The blue butter crock could be Red Wing as well, but would need to look it over to tell for sure, Red Wing did produce a blue advertising butter crock with Mount Horeb, WI advertising on it. I would place the value between $100 & $150 on it. Hope this helps some. Al Kohlman
