Question:
i have a 5 gallon water cooler that is salt glazed. it is the lazy eight and has two chips on the inside rim and two chips on the bottom of it, it also has a crack all the way down the side that is between the 5 and the right hand handle. it is marked red wing with a stamp above the spout. What is this thing worth? Thank you Michael

Answer: Michael, your Red Wing straight sided signed salt glazed cooler is a great piece. The decoration is called a drop 8. The crack is what kills the value. If it were mint, you would be looking at $8,000 to $10,000. With the crack you are around $4,000. Still a chunk of change and what a nice looking cooler!!! Al Kohlman
