Question:
Hello. I bought this crock in Idaho more than 30 years ago and used it once. It has a blue 2 and a reddish wing (about 4.25 inches) It has what looks like a superficial cut on the rim that may have been done before firing and a rough patch at the bottom edge to the right of the wing, It has a lid with a hairline fracture on top. Thank you. Diane
Answer: Diane, your line in the rim looks to be a factory blemish. It will affect the value a little, but not like a crack that would be in a crock because of poor handling. The lid (as stated in the previous question) is not Red Wing and would have little to no value in it. However, the crock has two things going for it. The stencilling of the number 2 and the red wing are super. Then even better yet is no oval on the crock. This is one of the tougher 2 gallons to find and the two gallon collectors love them. Value on your little cutie would be between $159 & $175, Al Kohlman
