THis is a jug , I believe that we are guessing in about 100 years old. It has the lid and handles (shown). Do you have an approx. value for this jug. (I assume it’s a "jug"-may be called differently..let me know- thanks. Sincerely, Tara HArden Dallas, TX
Answer: Tara, your have what is called a Red Wing Ball Lock Jar or as us collectors refer to as an Applesauce jar. They came in three sizes, 2, 3 & 5 gallon. These applesauce jars were produced starting in the early 1920′s and production of these jars continued into the 1930′s. In mint condition with the lid, all the hardware & a 4 1/2" wing (all of which I see here) the value is between $275 & $325. Al Kohlman
