Question:
I looking to find a 6 1/2" cover for my RW stoneware advertising casserole. How difficult might this be and can you point me in the right direction to find one. What would value be with/without the a cover. Would the cover have been a flat one or domed? Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I sure enjoy this section of the RW webpage.

Answer: Your Red Wing casserole without the lid would have a value between $65 & $75. The Christmas Greetings on the casserole may even add further value as some collectors love this Christmas wordage. Also, I though I had a lid for you, but when I pulled it out, it was 7 1/2". So mine is for the large casserole. Casserole lids will have a bar handle and you can look in any of the three Red Wing books out there to see what they look like. A good mint lid will run about $60. The best areas to find one is either in the want ads in the Red Wing Collector Society’s advertising page which is on this site. The other is Ebay. Take a look at the ads in this site. One of the ads is a person looking for Racine Wis advertising. I bet they would love to hear from you. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Al Kohlman
