Hi,I found a Stone Mason Fruit Jar at my local thrift store . It says Union Stoneware Co. Red Wing,Minn. on the front.On the bottom it says PAT JAN 24 1899.It is gray in color.It appears to have had a lid at one time.Could you tell me if it is a authentic reproduction. Thank You Kathleen

Answer: Kathleen, your Red Wing Union Stoneware mason jar is authentic. These mason jars came in three sizes. 1 gallon $900 to $1000, 1/2 gallon $225 to $250 and 1 qt $225 to $250. Values are for jars in mint condition. These jars came with the old zinc fruit jar lids. You can find the lids on eBay or even garage sales. Also, they can be printed in Blue or Black ink. Hopefully you have the wonderful gallon size. Al Kohman
