I am given a large crock, guessing it is 5 Gal. it has 1/2 red wing, marked union stone ware company , patent date Dec 21 1918 on handle is missing the other broken it has a #8 about 2-3 inches tall. can you tell me more about this and the perhaps value .. thank you

Answer: You have an 8 gallon Red Wing crock that was produced between 1915 & 1936. You state that one of the handles is broken. If the wood or the wire handle is broken, this will not affect the value. If the clay handle which holds the wire handle is broken then the value I give you the value will drop by 75%.
