Question:
Attached please find a picture of a crock we found in a house we purchased in 2007. I tried to research the symbol on the side and found a listing referencing the North Star Stoneware Company. Very interesting history. Wondering if you can identify the symbol – a circle with a star in the middle and a smaller circle within the star and the number 3 within the smaller circle. The crock is half brown on the bottom and a glazed gray(?) on the top half. We have the lid that goes with it as well. If you need additional info., please let us know. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Answer: Your crock is not a North Star piece. I believe it was manufactured in Ohio, but am not sure of the company’s name. Al Kohlman
