Question:
I have a Red Wing, 8 gal wide mouth, with 2 hairline cracks from the top on the outside. otherwise mint condition. No chips and original stamps. Can you tell me what you think the value is? I know it is at least 65yrs old.

Answer: You have a Red Wing 8 gallon crock. These crocks were manufactured between 1909 & 1947. The crock can be aged by the size of the Red Wing and also if it has wire handles or no handles at all. Also, the size of the wing and handles or no handles will also determine values. The hairlines though will hurt your value. Low value on the crock would be $40. High would be $80. All depends on how large the hairlines, where they are located, size of the red wing etc. Al Kohlman
