Question:
I have a large stoneware jug – clearly marked as Red Wing. It has a large number 3 marked on it – does that mean it is a 3 gallon jug? Can not find any reference to these numbers and what they mean. I am interested in selling this jug – any hint as to value? measures 16 1/2 " high, 10" diameter #7 standard 2 1/4" trademark oval a few minor exterior chips around the base, no cracks – photo included

Answer: You have a Red Wing 3 gallon shoulder jug. This jug was produced between 1917 & 1947. So there were a large number of these manufactured. Value today is between $40 & $50 Al Kohlman
