Question:
I have a red wing 3 gal crock and a lid from my mom’s estate. I am beginning to wonder if the lid really matches the red wing crock. Hoping you might be able to help me ID the manufacturer or at least tell me if it ISN"T a red wing lid. Lid is cool beige color (like crock), has three 1/8 bands of blue color, one inch band of unglazed or unfinished or ? about 1 inch from outer rim, and has a 4 W mark stamped into the crockery in the scalloped band between inner color band 1 and middle color band 2.

Answer: I sounds like you have a 4 gallon water cooler lid. Now, I am not sure if it is Red Wing, Western or from another stoneware company with out seeing a photo of it. Please send me a photo (director@redwingcollectors.org) and I will help you out. thanks Al Kohlman
