Question:
Hi, I have a "crock" that I have always wondered about. I finally went on line and found your website. I am interested in knowing if I have a "Redwing" that is important. Please view the photo enclosed. I found it semi-buried in my little backyard 13 years ago when I moved in. I kept it because it looked great! I have used it for many things. Condition wise is great – a few hairline cracks but it holds water. Please let me know if there is any value in this. I often fill it for my little dog to drink out of outdoors! But if it of value I may not!! Thank you. Are you going to be able to open this? If not let me know and I will resend in my email.
Answer: You own a Red Wing stoneware 2 gallon crock with a 4 1/2 inch wing. Your crock was manufactured sometime between 1909 & 1930. In mint condition, it would have a value around $60. With the hairline cracks, between $20 & $25. Al Kohlman
