Question:
2nd part of question is about an advertising jar. It has Haarman Pickle Co. on it. Brown top with light bottom. It has the metal handle in tact. Only defect is a small chip on the ring of the top.
Answer: Your advertising jug looks to be from the Western Stoneware Company. Red Wing however did do business with the Haarmann Company and it did bear the shield design. However, these companies did bid out there advertising and many companies bid their own design. So it would not be uncommon for a company such as Red Wing Stoneware to win a bid one year and the Western Stoneware Company win the bid the year after. Either way, it is a very attractive piece of advertising which would carry a value between $275 $350. Al Kohlman
