Question:
hello-i was wondering if you think this might be a red wing jug? maybe a noon time piece? if not,do you know who the maker might be or the area it came from. we bought at an estate sale about 10 years ago in central wi. do you know what the value might be? it is 12hx10w.any info would be helpful. it is in vg condition.thanks, jack

Answer: Jack, it could be a Red Wing jug, but I would need to see the back of the handle where it attaches to the jug to have a better idea. Your bird looks like it was etched into the Albany slip. Red Wing did not use this type of etching on there pieces. With this being said, it could be a lunch hour piece, or the bird could have been etched in the front of the jug after it was made and lastly, it most likely is not a Red Wing piece. Having never seen a jug with a decoration on it like this, I just have no idea of it’s value. Sorry I was of little help. Al Kohlman
