Question:
Hi I am looking for a brown Red Wing Stoneware pig. There is one on Ebay now but Ouch!!!!. Anyway, when I was a little boy, My Grandmother bought me one from the Estate of her Mother and through some disreputable people, I lost it. I have been trying to find one to replace the memory—any suggestions as to where I could purchase one? I hate auctions because I WANT IT NOW!!! (OK, I am still six years old!!! LOL) Thanks for whatever help/advice you could give Sincerely Bob Nelson
Answer: Bob, gotta love those Red Wing pigs! I have four of them with one being a white 7 inch pig bank. These Red Wing pigs use to run about $450 for a mint one. Today, expect to pay $700 for a mint pig. The best I can tell you in regards to finding one is 1) Ebay, 2) on February 15th the Red Wing Collector’s Society will be running a classified ad here on this site. You could place an add by contacting the RWCS Business Office at director@redwingcollectors.org 3) During the Red Wing convention in July, there are usually 2 to 3 mint pigs for sale. Hope this helps and good luck on your hunt. Al Kohlman
