Question:
Hello, I have a question about the Red Wing chicken waterer. My husband came home with a 2 gallon waterer. this is the kind that lays on its side with legs on the bottom to tilt the waterer. It has a slit in the front for the chickens to drink from. I have seen a lot of chicken waterers and have not seen one this big before. Are they common? Can you tell me what a value for this would be? It does have a small chip on one of the legs but otherwise is in great condition. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much Mary
Answer: Mary, your Red Wing Chicken Water is called the Eureka feeder. These are fairly common and will usually have a Red Wing oval on the top of it. Now of course, it depends on which oval is on the feeder or if no oval at all. Collectors like mint feeders, so the small chip will hurt it’s value. If it has the first Red Wing Ski oval on top in mint condition, value is around $200. Normal oval $150. With a chip on a leg, around $100. Al Kohlman
