Question:
I have an old redwing container, it is huge and sits on the floor. it is the number 5 on it and a wing and below that it says : redwing union stoneware co. redwing minn Would you be able to tell me the age of this container? What it was made for and is the value good on it. It has a handle on it and it is in great shape.. appreciate any info on this container Guessing I would say it is more then 2 feet tall, it is a jug with handle on it. I do not have a photo at this time

 

Answer: Sounds like you have a Red Wing 5 Gallon Shoulder jug. These jugs were made anywhere from 1917 to 1947. They were used for caring water to the fields, making wine or storing liquids of all sorts. Price range depends on who large the wing and no damage such as chips or cracks. $75 to $125. Al Kohlman
